New Season, New Styles

The exploration of an airy color story is only one theme of Indochino’s Spring/Summer collection.

Slowly but surely a new season is emerging, marking a near end to these unprecedented times. But how do we dress for a world we haven’t experienced in so long? Despite fashion trends continuing during our global grounding, they seemed to cycle out every week and few designers used fantasy to inspire hope within us.

It seemed that dressed up would cease to exist and yet here we are on the other side. Ready and willing to seek all that we missed before and all the opportunities we put on pause. In this time of exploration, Indochino invites you to also explore the resurgence of dressing up.

Because a made-to-measure brand such as this could not –and would not– allow you to embark on this new journey without being properly dressed. Consider its latest lineup for Spring/Summer 2022; a multifaceted collection that tells the tale of exploration. The exploration of an airy color story, luxurious fabrication, fashion-forward high saturation and how ruggedness can complement a polished palate.

Highly saturated tones take center stage in this collection

The nautical elements of this collection speak to the iconic sailor-influenced style of the Victorian era, as most nautical collections do. However, Indochino reviews this historic fashion sense and rebrands it as a grungy guys go-to. It’s plentiful in stripes and deep blues and does not lack in yacht-friendly linen fabrics and neutral tones. A lineup so posh and pristine pairing it with gunmetal jewelry and relaxed tanks seems almost criminal. Instead, it’s an infusion of the sleekness you might find uptown juxtaposed with the common downtown grunge.

Highly saturated tones take center stage in this collection. Last season we saw bright pinks, neon yellows and electric blues all over the runways and they are trending again for another season of bold color. While some argue color is a specific person’s venture, Indochino debates that punchy color stories are for more than just the usual fashionisto or style editor. A corn yellow suit may seem like a particular and peculiar choice but when refined with a monochromatic t-shirt and fresh sneakers, this intimidating look is revised as an everyday go-to you’ll love as much as your neutrals.

Quality materials are also a strong theme for Spring/Summer 2022. The most prestigious textile mills produced the materials for this collection. Cashmere, wool, and cotton outfit unique compositions that make durable suits for this season and many more to come.

There is not much breaking news about pastels for spring, and that may be what drove this approach to the trend. As blush pinks and pale moss greens begin to trend upward, Indochino encourages daring style direction to elevate spring’s most favorable color palette. Exploring the softness of these colors juxtaposed with punchy patterns is what raises the bar. Fruit-inspired linings layered against palm print shirts speak to how boldly you can perceive pastels while the pale pink plaids and baby blue seersucker uncover the depth these colors can possess. While these contemporary compliments may seem to be the height of fashion faux pas, these untypical times have taught us that life is too short not to take chances, even with our clothing.
