With summer in full swing, it is time to revamp the old summer wardrobe. Getting summer style right can be a bit difficult, especially if you gravitate towards the typical uniform of a t-shirt and shorts. Hawaiian shirts and flip flops need not make an appearance. Instead, look no further than three of Hollywood’s summer style connoisseurs for inspiration so that when the heat turns up, you will look cool and comfortable.

Mr. Williams is a style icon all year round, but his recognizable style was made for summer. He nails pattern mixing, bold colours and cutting-edge designs like no other. Who else can wear denim shorts, a jean jacket and a formal bow tie? Whatever the occasion, Pharrell has fun with his fashion choices and it shows. Take your cue from him and start small with salmon-colored shorts and a printed bow tie, or a graphic tee with a camo print cap. If your fashion sense is more conservative, try to incorporate one bold item in your outfit like a royal blue blazer or a pair of fire truck–red sneakers for an inspired-by-Pharrell outfit.

Ryan Gosling is the king of cool when it comes to fashion. His summer style is effortless and he always looks put together no matter the outing. Always one to keep things casually cool, Gosling’s staples are, without a doubt, lightweight basic tees, fitted Henleys, and worn-in denim. He also gets summer accessorizing right: instead of flashy pieces, Gosling opts for nice leather watches, quality sunglasses and simple chains. Follow in his fashion footsteps and try a button-down shirt with rolled-up sleeves and tuck it into some slim-fit dress pants and prepare for the swoons.

David Gandy is all things formal summer. Even though suits in the summertime may seem like a recipe for heat exhaustion, he rocks them and never fails to look cool. But suits are not for everyone and he also gives us some inspiration for what to wear when you want to look polished without overheating. He can often be seen mix-and-matching suit colours with a basic tee and a pocket square. Venturing more into business casual territory, Gandy enjoys sporting linen suits in pale blues and creams, finished off with loafers or a beachy panama hat. Instead of reaching for a t-shirt and shorts this summer, boost your style with a linen suit and a basic white t-shirt for a great look that will keep you looking and feeling cool this summer.
